FresherImage : PaintShopPro : Working With Vectors

Paint Shop Pro 6 - Working With Vectors
Part 1: Getting Started
by Jacob A. Wheeler

In this how-to we're going to cover the basics of working with vectors in PSP6. From start to finish we will create a circle, tranform it into a different shape, and add some curved text.

1. Create a new image, 200x200, with a white background. (16.7million colors -- 24 bit)

2. As shown to your right, we are now going to create a new object (a circle), in the center of your new image.

Shape = Circle
Style = Stroked & Filled
Line width = 1
Antialias = yes
Create as vector = yes (Important!)
Tool Options

Vector Image::Circle Your new image should look something like the image on the left. Note the greyish square outline of the circle; this indicates that the graphic is a vector image. These lines and squares will be of some use very shortly.
