The Story of a Template King

Many of you may already be familiar with FreeWebTemplates.com, a website in the Bigresources.com Network, which supplies complete website layouts to the public for free. Behind this concept is a single mind, Adonis Ronquillo 
(known simply as Doni to his friends). This article will showcase some of Doni's top works, and educate you on how Doni has become one of the top web design artists on the Internet today!

First off, let's find out a little bit more about Doni, the designer behind the templates. Born on June 30, 1976, in Nashville, TN, Doni showed an interest in art early in life. As early as elementary school Doni was already participating in arts and crafts shows. 

When asked why he started drawing, Doni replied:
"It was inbred. I have always been creative, if not drawing I was always making something. Even today I use my artistic skills in more than one career."

In high school Doni took all the art classes possible and even received a scholarship related to art.

Although talented, Doni's trip up the ladder as a well respected graphic design artist was unexpected. His early days using America OnLine were spent in long conversations with girls that he hardly knew, or creating interfaces, and Visual Basic forms for the so called "AOL hacker" community. However, with each interface design, Doni's layout skills improved, and soon he was receiving so many requests for free websites, that he decided to offer just that. From this idea grew Doni's first major endeavor, the iFace Warehouse. 

Located on a "free host", and not even possessing a domain name, Doni started offering what would later be known as "templates". As more time passed, word got around of Doni's incredible free offerings. Doni finally became serious about his work, and went out to buy his first domain name, FreeWebTemplates.com. Doni's redone website soon exploded. He was personally contacted by a Ysurfer! (a Yahoo employee responsible for making Yahoo listings), and on Thursday - November 4, 1999 was featured at TechSightings.com.

In late 2000 Doni was invited to join the Bigresources.com Network of web development sites. As a one man band, the extra traffic and recognition of becoming a network member allowed Doni to focus more on his template designs, and site updates, instead of splitting his attentions on marketing and promotion. After much diligence and hard work, FreeWebTemplates has grown to provide hundreds of free, high quality website designs to thousands of visitors daily.
